We had our first 4-H showing on Thursday and it went pretty well. Madi was showing her Amazon Grey Parrot "Freedom" that we were given from another home back in the winter. She won reserve champion which was great for her first time in the 4-H program, she was going up against a parakeet and a cocatiel, so second out of 3 places was not so hard to get. We all learned a lot about the process that up until now had been very confusing and credible info was hard to obtain. I think that she will continue with 4-H and add to her awards shelf. Next year hopefully, she will show the parrot again and add her newest pet a Guinea Pig named Oreo. Now that we know more about the 4-H program she will be able to do a lot better at showing the critters. Me and Dawn were so proud of her and were just as nervous as she was when she went through the interview/judging process. Good job Madi!!
